Volunteers needed to take care of stray cats in Barcelona city center (Spain)!!

Are you thinking to move to Barcelona (Spain – Europe) to live or study?

Do you love cats?

The Jardinet dels Gats (Cat's Little Garden ) is an Animals' Association who, with a team of volunteers, works hard to give stray cats a better life. We rescue cats, and neutrilize and test them, and afterwards they enter to El Jardinet, our cats' colony, where they are ready for being given in adoption.

El Jardinet dels Gats is located in Ciutat Vella, in the city center of Barcelona, and we are supported by the District of Ciutat Vella (pioneers of the project).

Actually, we need volunteers:

- To look after of our cats' colonies: you will only need to spend one morning/afternoon per week in a colony, feeding, cleaning, playing with the cats or giving them medicines if it is necessary.

-   Rescuing cats in danger.

-   Fosters' houses to help our cats:

WHAT IS A FOSTER'S HOUSE?

Is a temporary home for one -or more than one- of our cats. It is a great solution for people keen on cats that live for a short period in our city (laboral, personal reasons, …), and can help us taking care of a cat for a limited period.

FOR HOW MUCH  TIME SHOULD YOU HAVE TO  TAKE CARE OF OUR CAT/S?

There is no specified period for it. In the foster's house contract you will be able to specify which disposition do you have. It could be of just a few days, weeks, months or until the cat gets adopted. You choose!

WHICH CATS ARE THE ONES YOU CAN FOSTER?

The cats that can be fostered can be: kittens, frightened cats that need some calm to become sociable, cats that need a medication or that need to recover from an operation.

WHAT IMPLIES TO BECOME A FOSTER'S HOME?

Is a volunteer service that implies to feed and take care of a cat in a sensible situation. If you detect any health or behave problem the Associació El Jardinet dels Gats will give you advise in order to resolve it.
